2018/2019 Courses

Work Based Learning-Internship--Fall 2018

Internship programs connect students with an opportunity to deeply explore their chosen career major through “hand on” learning in the occupation. Work based learning must align with your career goal. Educators & host businesses develop written training and evaluation plans to guide workplace activities in coordination with classroom instruction. Students can receive course credit (60 hours = ½ credit; 120 hours = 1 credit) for their completed assignments and work experiences.

Personal Finance--Fall 2018

Personal Finance is designed to give students an introduction to the basic fundamentals of finance. The content of this course will consist of basic concepts such as maintaining a checking account, budgeting, obtaining credit, managing risk and insurance, saving and investing, renting or owning property and paying taxes. This course is designed to prepare students to make the choices that they will be responsible for as they enter adulthood and gain independence. My classroom encourages collaboration and critical thinking through hands-on activities which makes personal finance more relevant and engaging so every student can find success.

Entrepreneurship--Spring 2019

Entrepreneurship focuses on recognizing a business opportunity, starting a business, operating and maintaining a business. Students will learn the basics of planning and launching their own business. Student will develop a business plan for their business that includes structuring the organization, financing the organization, operations, marketing, and human resources.
