Wando girls basketball senior Skylar Blackstock hit 1,000 career points in a 52-39 win at West Ashley on Saturday.

Blackstock entered the region matchup needing 24 points to reach 1,000. She’d scored just 10 by the start of the fourth quarter. She poured in 14 points in the final eight minutes, though, outscoring West Ashley by herself and finishing with a game-high 24.

The Clemson pledge is averaging 23 points, eight rebounds and six steals per game this season for the 13-5 Lady Warriors.

She reached the 1,000-point plateau in less than three years, averaging 16 points per game in her career. She’s the second Lady Warrior to hit the career milestone in the past two years, following former teammate Clare McTighe last season. Just one other player has surpassed 1,000 career points in the history of the Wando girls basketball program.
