The Warriors defeated 5 other teams to win the Regional Mock Trial competition qualifying them for the State competition March 10th and 11th in Columbia. Mock Trial replicates the trial system through simulated cases. Each case includes charges, affidavits, and exhibits. The team formulates both a plaintiff and defense position. They must be prepared to perform either task with minimal notice before trial. Witnesses assume the character of one of the possible six personas. They must endure examination by attorneys of both teams during the trial. Attorney requirements include examinations of witnesses, an opening statement, and a summation statement. Each individual on the team must be skilled at public speaking, quick thinking, and attention to detail.
Members recognized as Outstanding Witnesses at Regional were Harrison Wetherell and Haley Sineath. Outstanding Attorneys were Stephen Brooke and Eleanor Ross.
