 Wando High School
Welcome to World Geography and Psychology!

I am originally from Maine where I attended the University of Maine, Orono.  I earned my B.A. in Secondary Education with a focus in Social Studies:  Psychology and World History.  I am currently pursing a Masters from LSU - Curriculum and Instruction / Administration.

I began teaching 12 years ago!  I taught a variety of courses during my 9 years of teaching in Maine.  I have taught Geography, Current Events, Civics & Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, United States History and SAT Prep.  At my school in Maine, I was a proud advisor to the Student Council and the Senior Class.

This is my first year at Wando and I am very excited to be teaching both World Geography and Psychology!

I look forward to meeting all of you :)

Courses Taught

World Geography - CP
World Geography CP is a course designed with emphasis placed on
providing the student with an understanding of the major world regions and their relationship with the modern world.  The course will closely follow the standards established by the state of South Carolina.  The course will have a regional focus with emphasis on physical geography, historical events, human geography, and human-environment interaction. Each unit will involve exploring the political, cultural, and physical make-up differences and similarities, evaluate decisions and course of action, think critically, and recognize problems and solutions.  The ultimate goal is to stimulate interest in world events while fostering an attitude of tolerance.

Psychology - CP
Psychology CP is designed to introduce students to the major concepts and principles of psychology with an emphasis on human growth and development, cognitive process, personality, mental health and behavior disorder, and social psychology.  Students will learn the basic skills of psychological research, develop individual and group research projects, and apply psychological concepts to their own lives.  Students will also develop their own writing skills.
