Belcher, John

I've spent most of my life in the service of my country and/or others. Growing up I spent most of my time living and working on my grandparent's dairy farm or on military bases as a military BRAT. I spent nearly a decade serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa as a United States Marine. After my deployment time in the service I began a life long dream of working on Capitol Hill. While there I served as a military and veterans affairs advisor in the U.S. House of Representatives, a Constituent Affairs Advisor and later became a deputy chief of staff and district director.
I have an undergraduate degree in History with minors in Political Science and English. And, I have a graduate degree in teaching from the University of Southern California.
In addition I'm a certified Advanced Placement History and Government instructor that holds a teaching certification/license in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and South Carolina.
When not shaping the incredible minds of the Wando High School students I enjoy hiking with my beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters. I'm an avid fly fisherman and trekker. I, also, enjoy wrestling and volleyball and I fully expect that I will see many of you on the mat or court.
